I’d like to nominate Southaven Wildcats for the sportsmanship award. You can put a girl in the gym with a great team and great coaches and they will get out of it what they put into it, but when you put girls in a gym that have coaches that don’t stress over winning every competition but put stress over having GREAT sportsmanship you get girls that Southaven wildcats put out.
They are not just girls that work hard, play together, cheer and pray over each other, they are girls and coaches that cheer, pray for, encourage, and root for others.
While at Nationals day 1 our girls noticed a team from Canada about to take the mat only had 5 fans in the fan area, they asked if they could join them and be apart of the fan area in front of the mat with the 2 coaches and 3 parents. ( this was all them, parents didn’t have to tell them to do this) they cheered as if they knew every kid on that team. Day 2 they made sure to make it back to do the same thing. This is true sportsmanship
